We have developed a 2-3 lesson program laid out in layman's language
that can be taught to indigenous , non-dental trained volunteers , using minimal portable equipment and
supplies to perform exams, home care instruction, cleanings, fluoride
txn , sealants and simple fillings.
In Vietnam, we taught people who worked for the orphanages,church
members/workers- they were non medical trained -normal HS grads
IN 2009/2010:
We started going into a new area , the Philippines . We will help train
lay locals in 2 Ngos to start a national program utilizing volunteers
and staff who are non-health professionals to reach 10s of thousands
of poor in the surrounding towns .
NEXT TRIP 2011:
Partnership with Vietnamese dental school,
and churches from major cities in Asia to
help set up new frontiers in the
Philippines and Cambodia. |
